Backup and restore

A backup holds all your settings in one file: audio devices and volumes, sound folders, push-to-talk and other keys, favorites, sound volumes, colors and emoji, phone layouts, and your paired phones. Your sound files are not included; they stay in their folders.

Back up

Settings → Backup & restore:

  • Back up now saves a backup in Resound's backup folder.
  • Save as… saves one wherever you like, for example on another drive or in a cloud folder.

Restore

  1. Choose a backup from the list and click Restore, or Restore from file… for one saved elsewhere.
  2. Confirm. Resound restarts with the settings from the backup.

Your current settings are saved as a backup first, so a restore can be undone the same way.

Move to a new PC

  1. On the old PC: Save as…, and copy the backup and your sound folders to the new PC.
  2. On the new PC: install Resound and choose Restore from a backup… on the guided setup's welcome page.
  3. If your sound folders are in a different place now, add them again under Sound library. On your phones, scan the new PC's code once, so they learn its address.
