Getting started
The guided setup
On its first start, Resound opens a short setup in its panel: four steps, about two minutes. You can skip any step with Skip for now and do it later in Settings.
| Step | What you do | Later under |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Add your sounds | Drag folders with sound files onto the panel, or choose them | Settings → Sound library |
| 2. Audio and voice chat | Choose your microphone and where you hear sounds, install VB-Cable, connect it | Settings → Audio & voice chat |
| 3. Push-to-talk key | Set the key your game uses for push-to-talk, if it uses one | Settings → Push-to-talk |
| 4. Connect your phone | Scan the QR code; optionally start Resound with Windows | Home page → Phone remote |
Each step has its own article: sound folders, voice chat, push-to-talk and your phone.
Before you start
The welcome page also offers:
- Skip, I'll set it up myself: goes straight to the home page.
- Restore from a backup…: brings back settings from an earlier installation, see Backup and restore.
Interrupted?
Resound remembers the step you were on. If you close the panel, quit, or restart Windows (VB-Cable needs a restart), the setup continues where you left it.
Run it again
Settings → Run the guided setup again (at the bottom). Your settings stay; the setup just walks through them again.
